Walk on the Wild Side
Edible wild side that is. This afternoon, I did a Wild Edible Walk for Green Mountain Conservation Group’s Annual Summer Party. The attendance was not what I expected, but I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We started out with a discussion about some of the wild edibles not found on site, and those out of season. One of my favorites is dandelion, and those of course aren’t out at this time of year. We then we walked around the grounds looking for teaberry, birch, maple, strawberry leaves, and raspberry leaves. It is also a pleasure for me to teach people the love of nature.
