The Butcher, The Baker, and the Candlestick Maker

It is days like this that I wish I had a video camera.
We got up early, had breakfast and headed out to the pig pen. With help from Bob, we thought getting the pigs off to the butcher would be easy. Well, at least easier than what it turned out to be.

We started by trying to get the pigs to walk up a ramp. We soon learned that idea was not going to work. These boots may have been meant for walking, but their hooves were not. It was like watching little old ladies walk on ice with high heals. We then put the crate on the ground, figuring we could push it up the ramp with the tractor. It started out okay. We got them in the crate and the door shut. I started pushing the crate up the ramp, and they started to whig out. One of their butts went through the side wall, and the other pushed it’s way out the front. We had to come up with a new plan.
First on our new plan was to fix the crate. We also needed to call in some back up testosterone. We needed more muscle.
The crate was fixed, and the back up help arrived. We managed to get them in the crate and locked up. They were not happy.
The men pushed the crate up the ramp, and onto the truck. We nailed a board across the top and tied them down.
Three hours and lots of muscle power later we were set off to the butcher.
