Pantry Turned Nursery
Easter brings new life to the farm, and this year was no exception. Into our lives came Deedle, Doodle, Sparkles, Puff and Ball . With all these babies, we had to do something. They are a wee bit small for the barn, and they need to be socialized. We have turned our pantry into a nursery.
Sparkles is a long haired, gray angora rabbit. He was suppose to be Autumn’s Easter gift, but when she saw Deedle, it was all over for Sparkles. Sparkles became my Easter present. I couldn’t stand the thought of putting him back in the cage.
Deedle and Doodle are ducklings. Right now, Deedle is yellow, which is why Autumn went crazy for him. She loves her yellow ducky bath toys. Deedle will be white when full grown. She is somewhat leary of Deedle at the moment. She loves to watch him, but really doesn’t want him to touch her. It’s rather funny to watch. Ducks live for 10-12 years, and I bet she’ll be the only one in kindergarten with a pet duck.
Puff and Ball are cute little fuzz balls that will be chickens when they grow up. We aren’t really sure what breed or sex they are, but we are hoping they are hens. We already have too many roosters. We are also hoping Deedle and Doodle are females too. Duck eggs! Yes, that would be awesome.
