One Big Barn, One Missing Kitty
Today was the kittens first day out. They stood at the back door, and gazed at this whole big new world ahead of them. They watched in awe, as the chickens ran freely around the yard. They were to afraid to leave the stoop.
A stray dog showed up, and we tied him up near the dog pen. This was even more of a reason for Puca and Pyewacket to stay indoors. They have had enough from the dogs who already reside here, never mind a wacky stray pup.
The dog officer picked up the black lab puppy shortly after lunch, but they still wouldn’t venture out to much past the door.
They seemed particularly interested in the chickens. I was hoping that it was not to make them their lunch. I decided to take Pyewacket closer to the chicken coop. This way she could see them even better. She kept looking back at the door. She was not as thrilled with my idea of meeting the chickens as I had been.
She scampered out of my arms, and instead of running back to the house, she went into the barn. Well, she was going to be a barn cat. I looked around for her, but she did not come, and she did not answer.
I figured she would come out later this evening when it was time for dinner, but she did not. I felt bad that she was spending her first night in the barn all by herself. I was expecting to have them both be in the barn together. So while she was out in the barn all alone, Puca was in the pantry by himself. Whining for her all night.
