On The Subject of Eggs
Since I seem to be on a roll about eggs, I figured I might as well continue.
We collect eggs every day. Eggs are of course the perfect food. They are loaded with all sorts of vitamins, and is a good source protein. According to calorieking.com, eggs have 54 calories, 1.1 mg of fat, 157 mgs of cholesterol, is a good source of potassium. If you eat just the whites, you knock out the cholesterol, lower the calories to 17, and you get 3.6 grms protein instead of 7 grms.Â
Since we get about 4 doz a day, we eat eggs very often. Being “diet conscience”, we eat only the whites. No one needs that much cholesterol in their diet, and I choose my calories very wisely. Why put in 40 extra calories for a yolk?
We have eaten eggs in so many ways, Â I could probably write a cook book “101 Ways to Eat Eggs”.Â
As it says in the Dr. Seuss video for Green Eggs, and Ham…Â
Oh, I frequently think every now and then,
Of the glorious fruit of the noble hen,
Eggs, eggs, E, double-G, S-eggs.
My knowledge of eggs is tremendously wide,
I’ve eaten them boiled, I’ve eaten them fried,
Poached and shirred and deviled and scrambled,
Hummeled, shmummeled, cuddled, and frammeled,
I’ve eaten them beaten and swizzled and swuzzled,
Frizzled, cadizzled, bamboozled, and fuzzled,
I know every way that an egg can be guzzled,
And thinking of eggs reminds me of Sam,
 Whose favorite dish,
Is green eggs and ham.
What do you do when you have an overbundance of eggs everyday? If you find out, let us know.
