Oh My, Another Rooster

Back in September, we ordered 25 New Hampshire Reds. For ordering 25 chickens we got a “free rare exotic bird”. The rare exotic happened to be an Araucana, also known as a South American Rumpless. We were hoping the Araucana would be a hen so we would get one more green a day to grace our egg basket. We now have discovered this new “hen” is actually a rooster.Oh, but he is so beautiful. He is a golden charmer to his flock of NH Reds. His juvenille crowing is somewhat funny, but he thinks it is beautiful. He trades crows with Stallin in the next pen. I am not sure what they are saying to one another, but be assured that they are competing to have the best crow on the farm.
We are considering naming him George after the Araucana we had that died. He is not the same color, but he is just as beautiful. He of course would be George the 2nd. No one could ever replace George.
