How To Use Rooibos Tea As A Facial Wash For Acne and Other Skin Inflammations

Rooibos Contains Natural Alpha Hydroxy & Antioxidants

While Rooibos, (pronounced roy-bus) is known world wide mostly as the delicious Red Bush Tea from South Africa, it is also a wonderful herb for healing and protecting skin.

Research has shown that Rooibos contains natural antioxidants. When used on the skin, these antioxidants will help repair skin cell damage. It has been show to work well.

Antioxidants attack free radicals in the cells, and helps to limit and repair damage. It’s important to use antioxidants on the skin to repair damage from the elements. Creams or ointments made with Rooibos herb acts as an anti- aging agent on the skin.  It can also be very useful in treating skin issues like eczema, and diaper rash.

Looking for natural relief of acne?  Buy some Rooibos, and make your own natural facial wash and cleanser. It contains natural alpha hydroxy acid’s and zinc and makes Rooibos very beneficial when used for acne. Alpha hydroxy is normally what is found in over the  counter (OTC)  acne medicine and cleaners. Make your own facial cleaner by mixing up a strong  infusion of Rooibos tea, and use to wash your face. Be sure to be gentle, as you do not want to irritate the acne. Rinse gently.

Rooibos also contains calcium, potassium, copper and minerals that also act to help heal skin irritations naturally.

What Works on the Outside, Works On The Inside Too

While using your natural face wash to clean your face, remember by drinking the tea every day, the antioxidants will help on the inside as well.  In South Africa, Rooibos tea is drank by everyone of all ages, from infants to seniors. While Rooibos is rather new to America, the South Africans  in the Western Cape province have been drinking this tea for centuries. Rooibos is grown only in this small region. It’s red color comes from being oxidized.
