Hattie McDaniel…A Whole New Cat
Hattie has been with us just a little over a week. While she still spends most of her time in the pantry, she has ventured out, and has even gone up the stairs.
Yesterday, I decided to see if she would sit with me on the couch while I worked. Let’s just say I didn’t get much done. She took up my whole lap, and I wasn’t able to type very well. She purred the whole time, and loved all the attention. When she had enough, she just stepped down, and went back into the pantry. The pantry is still her safety zone, and that is okay by us. It is better she live there, than on the streets as she was doing. She has put on some much needed weight, and is looking better all the time. She has not made friends with all the cats, but I think she is starting to understand that the Lucy, the dog, is not going to hurt her. She is now in more fear of Abby, who just can’t stop hissing at her.
We are glad to have found Hattie, and I am sure Hattie is glad we found her.
