Chickens and Spring Fever

Chickens don’t like snow. Even when we leave the coop door open, they choose to stay indoors. By now, chickens have a major case of spring fever. They want out. They want to hunt for their little bugs in the grass. They just want grass.
This afternoon, while feeding them, one slipped out the door and onto the small bit of ground that doesn’t have snow on it. She loved it. I think she assumed that winter was over. Oh, how wrong she was. As Michael tried to get her back in, she just went out into the yard…into the snow laden yard.
Now, she doesn’t think she was so smart to sneak out.
