Begock
When we first got the chickens, we knew they were not pets. We knew we could not name them, as then it would be harder to kill come slaughter. When we got the first three, we decided to call them Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. That way we would not get attached. Dinner is now Sparky, and Sparky has become my favorite chicken. She is now my pet. I am working on taming her a bit. As much as chickens can be tamed.
The rest of the chickens remain nameless. We have yet to get any eggs, but we watch for them daily. It could be late this month or early August. We are just hopeful.
They are funny to watch ramble about the yard. They??chase bugs, and anything else that moves hoping for??a small morsel. They free range around the gardens, which is great bug control for us. At night, after supper, we sit in the yard in amazement that we are here, on our farm, watching our chickens.
