Been Waiting 30 Years for This
While listening to the radio today, I found out today The Moody Blues are coming in concert at Meadowbrook Pavillion on August 22. I was so excited, I screamed. I have been waiting 30 years to see them. The pavillion is just a little over an hour away so it is managable with the animals and all.
I feel like the teenager who just got asked to the senior prom, or the child who won a free for all in a candy store.
The first time I wanted to see them, I was 16. My brother was going to the concert, and I was all set to go. Then my mother put the screws to that one when she realized I would be riding on the back of his motorcycle. I was crushed.
The Moody Blues have been a favorite of mine, since I can remember. It was actually my brother who got me hooked on them. They came around in concert a few more times over the years, but I could never go for one reason or the other. Kids were little, had to work, you know, the usual things in life.
As the kids got older, we had always planned to go together the next time they came around to our neck of the woods. I was so excited, I called my oldest and woke him up. Then I called my other son, and told him to take the day off.
Tickets go on sale Saturday morning at 10 a.m. I will waiting anxiously by the phone at 9.
I now have Moody Blues songs going through my head, awaiting the day I shall finally hear them live.
